The Dwelling Initiative
Vision: Providing essential modifications and repairs for low income households so that they may experience an improved quality of life and God’s love.

The Dwelling Initiative was born out of a desire to love the Durham community well by serving the fatherless, the widow, and those in need (Psalm 68:5- 6). As beloved children of God we have the opportunity to dwell in a personal relationship with Him, just as Jesus came to dwell among us. Safely dwelling, or living, in house and home serves as a reflection of God’s loves.
Types of Projects
As a ministry of Missio Durham, the Dwelling Initiative will assess projects relating to:

Safety Equipment: hand rails, grab bars etc. to improve safety within the home.
-
Essential Restoration: mending and mitigating damaging following a water leak, flood, or other natural disaster in which the home has become a risk to the occupants.
*We do not work on roofs, structural elements, or perform foundation repairs.
